Googling your next potential hotel stay? The search giant will now provide information about hotel sustainability and health and safety programs right there in search results.
The search knowledge panel on the right of the screen shows hotel details if you scroll down under Maps & Rates.
Health and safety information includes things that were put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as increased cleaning of common areas, removal of touchables from common areas, physical distancing, hand sanitizers, sanitized key cards, and contactless check-in.
Sustainability looks at the hotel’s energy efficiency and recycling programs with categories such as donating and composting excess food, serving responsibly produced and organic food and local beverages, reusing towels, donating soaps and not using plastic straws.
These additions to the Knowledge Panel will begin appearing in desktop searches on Friday, Google said.
